Not Getting Voicemail Notification

Is anyone else having problems not receiving a voicemail notigication? Mine just started doing this last week. After the Kitkat update it was working, then all of a sudden starting last week I'm not getting the little voicemail icon displayed or notification sound.

I was using Google Voice with the option to display voicemail in the call log, and didn't get a voicemail notification until about 6 hours after the voicemail was left. I turned off the option to use the call log and haven't had the problem since.
