Help Not latest version still play games?

[JoMarIV]

I've been looking around, and cannot find a solid answer. My cheap sister wants to buy her son a new tablet because he beat his old one. We are wondering, does a gamer have to worry about android versions, will a device stop being able to play games if it can go no further than say, Kit Kat?

No it won't stop playing games, but it depends on game support though. Some games won't be available for lower versions of Android, but Kitkat should still be OK for at least the next year or so. The most popular games still support all the way down to ICS.
