Help Not picking up display name from Hotmail server

I've used hotmail as my email for years and on many mobile phones including iPhone 3G, 4, 4s, HTC One X and the Galaxy Nexus.

It seems as if the phone is supposed to pick up the display name from the hotmail server but it does NOT. Anyone run into this issue and know how to correct it?

I spoke with Samsung Support about this and they really weren't very helpful. First they said it could be to do with the profile settings in Windows Live, which it wasn't as like you I've used Hotmail for years and it was previously using the normal display name in my Nokia E71.

They finally said that I could download a different email app. I don't really find that a good answer for an expensive phone like the SGSIII and I would prefer to use the stock app.

Making matters worse for me Exchange now seems to be causing a massive wakelock problem and draining the battery. This seems to be happening to people regardless of the email app used.

Maybe some of these issues will be fixed in the next OS update, certainly hope so.

Did you get a different email app to combat the issue?
 
Am kind of surprised that this issue isn't being noticed more often. Are people just not using hotmail? I've had a hotmail account since 1997 or something.

I ended up deleting and re-adding the account to address the wakelock issues, which has worked so far.

But I haven't got another app to address the Display name issue as I have an IMAP account for work and I like having them both in the same OS integrated app. I tried the Hotmail app but deleted it pretty quickly as I didn't like it all.

Gotcha.

Could anyone else with a hotmail account attempt to set it up via the stock email app as an exchange activesync account, send an email to another account and see if your display name shows up correctly?
