Help Not receiving all SMS messages on Note8

Hello, I too am new to this forum.
I have also been having this issue with a Note 8, from T-Mobile. Not an unlocked version. With the brand new SIM card I got with the new phone.
I have switched the to stock messaging app and have cleared all cache files, updated everything and this is still a problem. It mostly happens (that I know of) from group messages.
I had the same issue for a year with my Note 4 and T-Mobile was never able to figure out the cause or fix the problem. I upgraded to the Note 8 and its gotten worse.
I have gone from missing a text here and there, maybe a couple a week to now, huge chunks of group conversations. The people in the group's also have iPhones, Android phones, Samsung and nexus phones.
It's so frustrating, I'll be sitting next to my wife and she'll get messages in group chats we're both in, that I never get. She's on T-Mobile with a Note 4.
I have been on the phone with T-Mobile 3 times this week and so far they have been no help.
If anyone has had any luck with this issue, I'd love some help.
I should also point out that after reading what some of you said, I called T-Mobile back and asked them if I needed to change my sms address and the kid didn't seem to know what I was talking about.
He said he put in a complaint, which would escalate it to engineering and I should hear back in 48 to 72 hours. This is also not the first time I've heard this.

If it was happening on another phone it sounds like a server side problem and there is nothing you can do. Read up on your consumer rights and see if you carrier is failing you.

Threaten your carrier telling them that unless they sort the issue you're going to be very cross.

If that's not helpful advice try another sim in the phone, use a friend's sim or a pay as you go to see if there is still a problem.

Hello,
Please forgive me if this has already been addressed, but I've been searching and searching and found nothing.
I recently upgraded to the Note8 and have noticed that I don't receive all messages. I get most, but maybe one a day so, I never see. Shows as sent on the senders phone.
Doesn't matter is the sender is on iOS or Android or even a Blackberry. Can't figure it out.
Also, I have never had an iPhone or used iMessage, so I know that's not the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Jack

I'm having the same problem with an unlocked Galaxy Note 8 on T-mobile. I don't believe the provider is the issue as I'm also using Mightytext and am receiving the "missed" messages via Mightytext's desktop/chrome app. That means the messages are actually getting to the phone and mightytext is forwarding to their web portal. SO, the issue seems to be with Samsung either dropping or not displaying the messages within the default messages app. Any ideas?

I'm testing a new theory that seems to be working so far (knocking on wood). I read that a few different people thought it was the App Power Monitor feature. If you don't use the app for a certain amount of time, it puts it to 'sleep'. They all claimed to have it help by placing all messaging apps into the 'Whitelist' or 'unmonitored' apps so the phone never puts it to sleep.
Again, I have no idea if this is the issue and if it fixes it, but I haven't been told of a missing text since.
Good luck, to us all.

I opened a support case with Samsung and one thing they told me was that if you'd restored messages, you may experience this problem. When I first setup the phone, I used smartswitch to move all apps and data from old phone to new phone. As this procedure is technically a restore, I decided to remove Google Messages all together and switch back to the Samsung messages app. Its been a week and I have not missed a message....tomorrow I'll post that I'm back to square 1 ;))

I have had the same issue with my Sprint Note 8. I took mine into Sprint, and they said if was a device issue (which I suspect is BS, but neither in the store nor the phone would budge on that). I also called Samsung and they instructed me to wipe the cache partition, which seemed to help for a few days, but now it's back to square one. Has anyone had anymore luck?
