Help Not receiving SMS - HELP!!!

My new Pixel 7 Pro is up and running. I have been able to make and receive phone calls. I have been able to send SMS'es and have received a SMS from a person in my contact list. However, I cannot receive SMS'es from anyone not in the contacts list. I am working with Google Fi and am using Text Free Online - Send SMS messages worldwide to test, and still nothing.

Not sure if it matters, but my phone is rooted.

What should I do?

What happens when you use the stock text message app that came with your Pixel 7?

i would go into a store and ask. if anything they might have a tech on location might be of more help.
