Help Not recieving texts when phone is off?

I recently took a vacation where I was out of service for 2 weeks. Knowing I would have no service, my phone was either in airplane mode or off the entire time. 2 weeks later when I got back into a service zone, I had quite a few missed calls and only 3 text messages from that day. All other texts what I should have received from the past 2 weeks I never got.

How long does Virgin Mobile archive a text before they dump it?
