Help Not registered on network

Hi, I am getting the not registered on network error. The sim was previously working ok,tried the sim on another phone works OK. Tried a soft reboot, tried deleting catche. Try automatically getting network setting. Is it worth carrying out a hard reboot.

I doubt that a hard reboot will solve the problem.

A Factory Reset to scratch most likely will because that will tell the network this phone is "unregistered" and restart the whole process.

I have never before had a phone with a sim card until I got this S5.
So, I am guessing based on my background in telecommunications as to what is going on.

try switching your network to Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode

If on CDMA change to LTE/CDMA or vice versa. I had to do that at my work as I do not get good LTE over here...

I found that under a slightly different sequence:

Settings/More Networks/Mobile Networks/Network Mode

Once there, I have the following options

  • Global (enabled)
  • LTE/CDMA
  • GSM/UMTS

My phone always seems to be able to get data regardless of where I am, so I have not messed with it. KISS, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yeah I think the settings are carrier specific in certain areas of the phone, I am on the Sprint network with Virgin so there is bound to be differences in the settings for the networks too.
