Root Not Sure What Happened

So I'm in the hospital for what could be a while. About three days in, I wake up, grab my phone, and see there's a message saying my SD card is blank or has unsupported file system. Everything's gone. Along with that fine news, it "broke" root. So now I'm wondering, should I allow this persistent OTA update, then find a way to root without a computer, or ignore the update and find a way to root without a computer? Thanks for any help in advance!

Since you lost everything, It wouldn't hurt to run the update. Beware that you may not be able to get root back if some of the root files remain on your phone. I'd try to re-download superSU and attempt to re-establish root first. If you can, In the superSU app settings it has an option to un-root. Try to un-root before running the update.

Hmm, I don't have an option to re-root, just an option to do a full unroot, which says it's a permanent un-root. Should I use that even if I want to root in the future? Thanks.
