Not Taking Any Charge ( Newbie )

Hello all, this is my first post so hi :D , apologies if this topic has previously been covered. My note 3 isn't taking any charge even when all symbols etc show that it is, i've used a variety of different chargers etc to see if it changes but it doesn't. I can plug it into my pc and it is recognized straight away, I have the charging symbol in the notification bar along with the red light but the battery doesn't charge, i've even bought a new battery to see if that was the problem, can anyone suggest anything to look at next ??, could it be a faulty usb port ? but then how does the computer pick it up straight away ?

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers :)

if it turns out.. that it is the phone's issue.

you can buy more batteries (2) and a battery charger .. on amazon for $28.
now you have 4 batteries... and a charger.
just switch out batteries as needed.

Hi, thanks for the replies, yes with different charging cables, new battery, wall charger & pc it doesn't take any charge. All symbols etc indicate that it should be, phone vibrates when connected, charging symbol appears in notification bar, led light goes red for charging but it doesn't charge, it's so annoying as i love the phone.

I have bought the charger you have mentioned and now have three batteries for the phone, it's just bizarre how it does this.

Thanks again for the reply and advice.

well.. last resort... grasping at a straw..

it MIGHT be an odd software issue. (most likely not)
to see if it is.... do a full hard reset of the phone.
it will clear all settings and app installs.
it might also delete all your personal files / pics... so back it up!

I know you said you tried different wall chargers, but have you confirmed that they output at least 2.0 amps? I have a box of old chargers and you'd think they are universal because for the most part they will charge any USB device ... BUT, Samsung devices are VERY fussy and the bigger the device, the more you need a more powerful charger.

To determine if it's the USB port itself, the test is simple, but you'll need a way to charge the extra batteries (a stand-alone charger or another Note 4 at your disposal) ... put a fully charged battery in the phone and see if it reports the charge accurately. Then let it drain down normally and try and charge it with the USB cable or wall charger.

You could try the app called Ampere..it will measure charging.
Remember charge over 450 mA if you use your device while charging as Note 3 really love that juice.
