Note 2 led notification.

Does anybody know if the LED indicator actually turns on, when the device is charging? That's something I've missed, ever since moving to the Photon. While I can use aftermarket apps that will activate the LED to turn on while charging, the light is so small that it was irrelevant.

I'd love to hear more input from peeps that currently own and are using the phone daily.

There is the option to......
Have the red LED lit when charging
The red LED lit when low on battery
Led light up with notifications (only when the screen is off)
Blue LED lights up when recording voice with screen off.
There you go ;)

Beautiful! Thanks so much. Anybody have a picture of the LED light while it's charging? I'm wondering if it's too understated or if it's prominent enough that a person would be able to see it across a room. And, I'm also wondering if it changes to another color when the phone is completely charged.

on my htc phone... the led is solid orange when charging and turns solid green when done.

but I hate it.. because.. when it is plugged in.. the led only shows charging info.
so when a notification comes in, there is NO.. response from the led!
you have to wake up the phone.. to see if there is any missed notifications.

with the Note2..
when charging / plugged in...
does the LED still show notifications of messages?
example: blinking red or green?

this would be so helpful!

Dan, had you ever tried out one of the LED notification apps? I heard they work great with HTC devices, since the HTC devices have such bright LED notifications (which I've really missed a lot).

i used to use them... to get the 2nd LED (hidden) in the OG EVO to give me the extra info I wanted.

but i dont think the GN2 will have that 2nd LED.

I will try the apps you speak of.. when i get the new phone. just hoping that i dont need to...

Oh, I see. Well, at least we're off to a good start, with the confirmations evohicks gave us. Only 1 week till Sprint's Note 2 is released! Can't wait to see comments (and hopefully, it won't be an early exclusive through Sprint only, so I can be in the "early" owners club and get mine from Best Buy...LOL.)

I am using and have used Handcent SMS for a long time now and there are options to set
the LED notification a whole range of colours, tried one or two and they work well. Handy to
have a different colour for different things.

I was always content on using OEM text messaging apps, until I tried Go SMS. Thing is, it's been a little buggy lately, so I was considering trying Handcent, since it's so popular. Does Handcent have themes also? I just prefer the ICS color scheme and there were recent changes on Go SMS that I think made it a little too much for my tastes (plain black background turned into black w/ some weird pattern/design).

Yeah I think from my early Android days it was either Handcent or Go SMS, it just happened that I tried Handcent 1st, liked it so never tried Go. Yes there are lots of themes, skins etc, I just stuck with the metal skin with standard smileys (not the green Android ones) and then changed text tones for different people, nothing more annoying then getting a text message where you have to check it because it could be important, but its just a joke made up by a friend who thinks its funny.

I used Handcent for a while, then I tried Gosms for like a year. They update every week and right now it's a cluster of spam! I was using an old version but I somehow think they find a way to mess that version up, also. I was not receiving notifications and for some reason the vibrate NEVER worked. I went back to Handcent last month and I really like it again. It has great themes, the led color you set works and the vibrate works. I will say I have an older version because those updates f it up sometimes, but I'm happy.

Yeah, it was never a big deal for me...for a very long time (past 2 years) to use a different text messaging program. But I realized how good it can be to use a 3rd party app.

I always saw people raving about Handcent, but it was never an issue for me using the stock text messaging program. I barely started using Go SMS a couple months ago and like it, but am still open to try other apps (like handcent or any other). Only reason I chose Go SMS was because I use Go Launcher (which will also be changing to Nova, once I get the Note 2).

I was thinking of using the app Glowfly on my new phone. I've purchased it but haven't done anything with it yet, maybe.

Looks like lightflow will allow for the multi-color LED to come to life!

Samsung Galaxy Note II Review - Samsung Finally Finds Their Killer App

Wow, that was a really negative review lol

Yeah, it is a negative review, but I didn't pay attention much. All of the complaints were pretty nit-picky. Plastic feeling, hardware buttons (matter of personal preference over actual functionality), keyboard, and then one of the biggest complaints was TouchWiz (again, I never pay attention to the reviews on the UI...lol...as long as a good 3rd party launcher is loaded on top of it, I could care less).

All of those complaints are so petty and not really a fair assessment from an objective perspective. They're all personal complaints, not what the consumers might feel. Some make prefer it, some may not. That goes for any product.

Good day every one I have bought NOTE 2 but I want to ask some questions:
1-how does it take to charge its battery?
2-the charging LED some times lights in light orange and sometimes lights in dark orange or red I don't know why?is that means that it doesn't charged well?

please, I hope from any one that have NOTE 2 answering me
