Help Note 2 without a SIM What do I need to do?

Jim Robson

Newbie
Hi all, I just bought a Note 2 (ATT) with no sim. What do I need to do to get it operating? I paid next to nothing for it. Will I be able to sell it? Thanks, Jim

If you are using it, did you keep the sim from your old phone? If not, then you can call AT&T and get a new sim and activate the phone. You don't need to sell a phone with a sim. The person buying it can get their own sim.

Thanks tube 517, I bought it at a Ham Radio flea market from someone I trust. He said his wife kept the sim for her new phone. Sounds like just selling it is the best bet. Will I get a better price if I root it or leave it alone?

Do you intend to use it? You just need to get a new sim card and activate it. Note 2's are going for around $200-$250. You may need to prove that the phone is clean and not blacklisted for being stolen etc before selling.

Hi tube517, no, I don't need it so I want to sell it. I have a Galaxy S5 as my main phone. I think I'll have fun learning how to root it. I already had some fun downloading Odin. It just happened to have 2350 malwares with it. I'm learning. I began the process of getting a SIM from AT&T and it got past the verification stage. There were no problems or charges on it. Thanks for your help. Regards, Jim

I recommend Swappa if you sell it. It's still a great phone and there is still some demand for it. Good luck!
