according to the article android 13 will be the last major update for the note 20 ultra 5G.

the note 20 ultra is surely a beast. i skipped the note 20 for the fold 3. but my friend has one and i'm jealous of the s-pen slot the phone has......as my fold 3 does not have a built in slot. i have to have a special case to hold my s-pen.

i think you will love this phone. and i believe it. there is nothing wrong on getting the note 20 now. its not like it is super old. its not like you are getting the note 7.......lol

The only drawback to this whole deal is that Tmo may be out of stock on the Note 20 Ultra. I may have to get the Galaxy s22 Ultra. Any thoughts on that?

Just get an unlocked note20 ultra. This way you don't get the TMobile crap on it. And you can go with pretty much any carrier.

Do you need the S-Pen and a micro-SD for extra storage? Which AFAIK an S22 Ultra doesn't have.

I've got a Note20 Ultra 5G myself, had it over a year now, and I'm very happy with it.

I'd rather get the Note 20, but Tmo says that they may be out of that model. If that's the case, I'll get the S22 Ultra for sure. I'm paying off At&t, and Tmo is going to reimburse me in one lump sum(not monthly). Can't pass up that deal.

FWIW I bought my Note20 Ultra 5G directly from the local Samsung showroom, which was new of course, and they gave me a pair of Galaxy Buds at no extra charge.

I'm in a different position. I need Tmo to reimburse me. I'm retired, and on a fixed income. I'll keep checking, and maybe I'll catch a break. I survived Vietnam, and I'll survive this. Semper Fi.

I didn't realise that. Where I am carriers like China Unicom don't subsidise new phone prices, and they're all unlocked.

I tried, but Tmo can't get me a new Note 20 Ultra. I think that I'll be happy with the S22 Ultra. The phone will be upgraded through #16.
