Help Note 3 - screen problem

Hi, not sure how best to describe my problem! Fingers crossed I'll make sense! Lol

Samsung Note 3 - when unlocking the screen, using a pattern , the picture (image) displayed underneath the screen pattern dots....the screen 'smudges' uf that makes sense... the colours all run/rub into each other...where you press the screen (whilst putting the screen unlock pattern into the phone)

Thats the best i can describe it as! Hope it makes sense!

Does anybody know what the problem is... and should I start worrying now?!

Hi Paula, and welcome to Android Forums!

It's been awhile since I had the Note 3, but I think that's just a design feature. If it doesn't happen anywhere else (homescreen, apps, etc), then I'd say it's nothing to worry about. They just tried to make things "pretty". Hope this helps. If you're having the issue in other places other than the lock screen, let us know.

I haven't seen it anywhere else.

The screen 'smudge' ... has omly just started... I've had the phone for over 6 month, the problem (if it isone! ) has only just started... therefore I'm concerned its the stsrt of a problem maybe?

Doesn't the note 3 have that oil painting effect on unlocking? Have you checked the lockscreen settings?

And as previously mentioned, does this happen on other screens?

It's not a problem it's a feature. You can turn off the unlock effect by going into Settings > Device > Personalization > Lock Screen > Unlock effect > and choosing None. Or you can change to a different unlock effect. Welcome to the Android Forums Paula!
