Help Note 4 bricked. Help please?

I woke up and found my phone battery died, after being fully charged. Now when I turn on the device, it doesn't go past the Samsung splash screen. I've downloaded 5.0.1, put it into Odin and installed it on the device. It loaded successfully and said "Pass", cleared the cache and restarted the phone but nothing has changed.

I have downloaded both 4.4 and 5.0.1. I've tried 5.0.1 after it has finished, it just stays stuck on the screen.

Pull the battery, sd card and sim.

Wait a full minute.

Insert battery, attempt to boot.

If successful, retry with sim and then again with sd card - one at time, reboot.

If unsuccessful without either card - can you take it to a dealer and have them let you try a battery off of a show model?

If it was on the charger overnight and you had a power surge, the battery could be damaged, hence the focus there.

I'd usually suggest trying a different cable but if you're being successful with Odin I doubt it's that.

It could be the battery, I never charge my phone overnight, but I fell asleep last night on the couch, didn't get up until about 3:30am.

The battery died, so I'm currently letting it charge until full, turned off. I will make another post with an update.

Thank You for your suggestions.

I took out everything and went for a shower.

Still stuck at "Samsung", also tried without both cards, just sim, and just SD. No luck. :(

Ah yeah...

I won't be able to check it until the afternoon. Gotta get it sorted asap since I'm expecting calls in regards to work/a job.

It's weird because Odin says "Pass", so I have no idea why it doesn't startup.

I was wondering, after I install the OS via Odin, do I have to factory reset?

These are the two I've tried

I'd rather not factory reset, but if I have no option... It's gonna have to be done...

The day I wanted to backup my phone, is the day it breaks down. I have some really important pictures I want to keep. Normally it's on the SD Card but phone is full.

Ended up doing a factory reset, anyone in the a repair shop would just do the same and try to charge me, so I didn't waste my time.

I lost so much important things, my last backup is from November... I was actually going to backup this week so I could root.

Does any of the data recovery software actually work? I've used it on the past on BlackBerry and it worked, but BB OS and Android are very different.

I see, I guess everything is gone...

My SD card is fine, but there isn't anything new on it really, it's full. I was getting around to deleting stuff and then backing up this week. Had around 5k photos and numbers/messages I really needed. Maybe I should wipe the card and start both clean...

I've tried 2 programs but they only came back with random PNGs already on the phone. I'm guessing it's gone forever. If so, I'll just start to download the apps I use.

Google unleashed the new Photos app yesterday - automatic, unlimited photo backup.

Sorry that's too late but will save you if there's a next time.

Ah yes, I just saw it. Looks good. I should probably use Cloud Storage too. I have about 2tb, but to be honest, I've never trusted cloud storage. Shall I just move on now?

Thanks for your help by the way.

The only backup I can use is November 2014, that's from my Note 2 and I'm using Note 4. So I've basically lost everything.

I've installed OS 5.0.1 and rooted my phone (was unrooted before). It's starting to lag/hang and restart itself. It was doing that before also, when I had stuff on it. The phone also gets slightly warm. Could it be a faulty battery?

The phone was working perfectly fine . Then I installed Avast, Twitch, and a few others and it keeps restarting. I think either my battery is messed up, or an app is causing it. I used Spotify for 2 hours before that, had no problems.

I'm gonna try cache clearing, had to use someone else's phone to post...

I take it you rooted without installing a custom recovery.

I think that the odds are a little lower that battery went bad right after installing some apps.
