Help Note 7?

Hello all, thinking of upgrading to a Note 7 three months early? Have a Note 4 which is flawless and loaded like I want it. Is it worth the upgrade? Or should I wait? Thanks for all advice

I read a few minutes ago that they are recalling Note 7s in Belgium as well as pausing sales in Korea. So I might at least give it a couple of days until the picture becomes clearer.

That's why I suggest waiting to see how it develops. It's clear Samsung are taking it seriously, but it's not clear yet whether it's a widespread problem, a particular group of devices, or some particular circumstance (e.g. the dodgy third party accessories you mention, though clearly Samsung are not sure that's the case or else they'd not pause shipments). My guess is that they don't know the truth themselves yet.

It's because people use cheap third party chargers and cords with them.

You should be able to use cheap third-party chargers, without the Note 7s blowing up and combusting like Chinese hoverboards and knock-off segways. People seem to charge their phones with generic chargers all the time here.

My opinion is that the Note 4 is a great phone... the Note 7 is incrementally better in almost every respect. You won't find a lot of revolutionary changes (other than the edge features), but everything you like about the Note 4 will be better on the Note 7 - with rare exceptions, like the lack of Action Memo on the Note 7. Samsung is adding it this month (or was, until this battery blowing-up thing kinda distracted them)... but that won't be there out of the box.

If you DO decide to try the Note 7, I also recommend waiting until this whole recall thing is behind us.
