Note 8 verizon phone never updates os, etc...

I even reset the note 8 phone, but i never get any security updates or OS updates. It is supposed to be upgradeable to android 9. Currently runs android 8.0.
So what is the deal here, my daughters Verizon note 8 is running android 9, and os does get security updates.

have you manually checked for updates?

manual update is available go see a professional or ask questions if u want to get it done buy yourself however software can kill this cellphone just by making a mistake your been warned...

I got one about a week ago..maybe two weeks ago at the most.

Just updating, back then I had to download the sprint android OS for this phone and manually install the OS.
This is what happens, I am on Verizon, and this happened to be a Sprint phone, so it would never upgrade the OS.
Somewhere I found the image and used a procedure to make it happen. Dont recall all the details, but I had bought the phone used and the seller was using it with Verizon, so I assumed it was a Verizon phone...
