Help Note heats up!

I am using Galaxy Note and noticed that it was heating up considerably and even freezing in one instance.

This seems to happen when I continously loop through the home screens on my phone for about a couple of minutes.

I have 5 homescreens and I flick across them in a loop for 2 minutes. I was running 'test' to find out if there is a lag in screen navigation.
The phone heats up at the top and stays cool at the bottom.

- Why would this happen? I cant imagine flicking through home screen requires enough CPU for the phone to heat up. Please correct me if I am wrong
- What can I do to solve this or pinpoint the app which might be causing this.

Hmm, you are updating every pixel on the screen for two minutes solid and you don't think this is going to require a lot of CPU? Even the most graphics intensive games do not produce that much activity. A lot of people have assumed (I think correctly) that the reason why the Note is more laggy than the SII is the screen resoultion difference and the fact that more processing power will be needed to perform the updates.

Ok, l get the feeling that I am being a little harsh (sorry about that). Let me see if I can help. I noticied that the firmware update that I got recently (the 79Mb OTA update some people get and some not) really helped with the temperature of my phone. It runs a lot cooler now. But what you can do is go into settings->About phone->Battery usage and see which app is using your battery. What uses battery will generally also heat up the phone. For me, this is currently the display.

You could also try BatteryXL. I installed this at the same time so it could be that this app is helping with my phone heating.

Hope this helps...

Eric Ritchie.
