Help Note Isn't Recognized by PC when using 3rd Party (AT&T) USB Cables

tscan2012

Newbie
I purchased an extra charger pack & USB cable when I bought my Note less than 3 weeks ago. Everything was purchased from an AT&T store and the box for the extra USB cable said "Tested & Certified by AT&T".

Now it appears that the only use for the extra USB cable is charging and nothing else. I have to use the original USB cable that came with my i717 if I want the device to be recognized by my PC. If I use the other USB cable the device will not be recognized no matter what I do (Windows 7 64 Bit) and all it will do is charge the phone.

Is this normal for 3rd party USB cables? Is there another cable I can buy that will fully work with my PC? Do I have to buy Samsung brand only?

Thanks in advance

You might want to try this
Gi yo setting/ wireless and network / usb utilities and tab on connect storage to usb.
The other way would be share files via Bluetooth.
Or you can download some app for file sharing from the market.
