Help Note2 Receiving texts in random order

I have had my galaxy note 2 for 2 years now. No problems until the past 6 months.

When I receive text messages, they appear in random order. 98% of the time the message I send appears below the response message. Often, but not in every conversation the times on the received and sent times are also incorrect. Not normally but occasionally. This is a normal conversation as follows;

330: yes I will do that!
328:will you be by later?
326:hello
332k see you in a bit!

It makes no sense! Especially if I have to refer back to the conversation, then its like trying to solve a puzzle on top of it.

Any ideas and suggestions? I can't but a new phone for at least 6 months.

Usually these issues are caused by either you, the sender (or both) having the time set incorrectly on their phones.

Check in
system settings
date & time

that "automatic date and time" and "automatic time zone" are ticked. If it has been left to keep its own time (rather than update it from the network) it could easily be a few minutes out. If you only have this issue with one correspondent, it could be them!
