Help Notepad Widget not working..

Hey guys I just updated the firmware and rooted my phone to XXXKI3 so its running android 2.3.5 now. After rooting everything runs great except the damn notepad widget won't let me add any notes or type anything on it.. Does anyone know how this can be fixed without having to download a different notepad app? Thanks!
