nothing working in tasker

kurvert

Lurker
hi i have tasker 4.7 on galaxy s6 and none of the 3 profiles i have set up are working. i feel there is some setting on the phone that is preventing this. i don't know why else they would not be working. very simple profiles.
one is cell near - wifi on, one is wifi on - keyguard off and one is headphones plugged in launch stitcher. im fairly certain they are set up correctly and they are turned on, but none work. very frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Welcome to Android Forums.

At the topmost Tasker display ... long press on the Tasker logo in the top left corner. Did it switch from Disabled to Enabled and change from black-white to color?

yes indeed. this caused the headphone profile to start working, but the keyguard is still on when i turn the display off/on, but i am connected to the correct ssid and the profile is geen in tasker

aha! it was google smart lock in security settings. turned it off and now all three profiles work. thank you thom for your help. i had a feeling it was something dumb easy like that. hope this helps some other frustrated noob. ps i just went two blocks to the laundromat and the wifi turned off and then back on again as i re entered my apartment. awesome! off to the races

keyguard profile has stopped working. it is now asking for a pin everytime, despite being connected to wifi and the profile being active. i have messed with all of the security and lock screen settings to no avail. any suggestions?

Your two threads asking exactly the same question are merged into this one.

Keyguard profile? Try posting the profile you are having the problem with. Something like ...

Profile: tlaProximity
State: Proximity Sensor
State: Not Call [ Type:Any Number:* ]
Enter: tlaProximityEnter
A1: System Lock

... Thom

ok the profile is...
state: wifi connected "home ssid"
task: keyguard off
exit task: keyguard on

it's on and active, but the galaxy s6 edge still asks for the pin every time

are you asking if i wrote the wrong thing, or is that a suggestion? i don't want the keyguard turning off unless i am completely home

just to test i created a new profile with wifi near and had no luck. i tried with the 'connected' profile still on and with it switched off

WiFi Neat is a few hundred feet from the router. Are you sure you are connected/in range? Did you try using WiFi when at the same exact spot?

yeah. i've been reading that this profile is known to be unreliable and that it's better to do it with secure settings plugin. sure enough, works now for me

CONTEXT 1. Wifi Connected "Home"

ENTRY TASK 1. Secure settings -> Wake device -> keyboard/lights 30 seconds 2. Secure settings -> "YourLockType" -> Disable 3. Wait 2 seconds 4. System Lock

EXIT TASK 1. Secure settings -> Wake device -> keyboard/lights 30 seconds 2. Secure settings -> "YourLockType" -> Enable 3. Wait 2 seconds 4. System Lock

Edit: forgot to say that I don't do this for my car, on my MotoX you can list a bluetooth device as "trusted" and it automatically disables security for you, I wish you could do this for Wifi networks as well, but for now tasker does the trick.
