Why can you not change individual contact ringtones. But only system notifications

Yes you can. Although it may depend on the phone model.

haha, now this is a funny post. I'd say it's really hard to find a phone that doesn't support individual contact ringtones chanchan05! heh.

On later phones you open your contacts app, select the contact, press edit and then you tap menu again. The option to set a custom ringtone for just that contact will be there.

If you have an older phone, a odd brand with a carrier-based contact app or a custom rom, it might be a different procedure, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't possible. Let us know the phone make, the version of Android and which contact app your using and we'll be able to give you a step-by-step.

Oh its pretty easy. I wasn't talking about just Android though. Lol. Dumbphones still do exist.
