Help Notifcation Icons Always Blinking

I've been getting some great help here lately with my new Note 2, and I've ran onto anther issue I'm unable to find the solution to via Googling.

#1 In the notification area at the top, my WiFi Data Connection Icon (you know, the little up and down arrows) are always blinking like it's accessing 24/7. Every few minutes the down arrow will blink yellow then the up arrow will blink green.

#2 It doesn't happen ALL the time like I've read some report, but my "GPS Syncing" icon also blinks several times a day (maybe more than that but I just don't see it all the time).

Any thoughts on these two icon related problems?

Thanks!

What email sync interval do you have set? What other things are you running that may be syncing? Or free apps that are going online to get ads? Check to see what apps are running and you should be able to figure out which ones are getting online.

GPS? Turn it off when you're not using it. It doesn't use much battery when you're not using it, but every little bit counts.

I actualy don't use the mail app on my phone for anything (as I reserve that for my PC or Laptop), however, the only mail related process that seems to be running is Exchange.

Naturally I have a laundry list of free add-based apps installed, as most would, so most of my GoogePlay or other app related items are set to auto-update. However, the Wii-Fii arrows blinking orange and few minutes seems excessive. Is that normal?

Id rather not disable it all together. I'd like any apps or site relate info that depends on GPS (which is quite a lot on the smartphone) to work instantly when I pull them up and not have to re-enable GPS first. I've heard others having this issue, so is there a way to figure out what's causing it to resync all the time (without cutting its legs out from under it)?

Thanks!

UPDATE:

I've been looking to try and find more info regarding the data accessing issue. Frankly, I have so much that is constantly needing to update itself (including my weather widget, etc.) that I guess I just have to accept it's always going to be doing that (I was just hoping it wasn't either a glitch or some kind of security problem). If anyone has thoughts on this, please let me know.

However, my new question is this; is there any significance in the color of the bars (IE: down arrow blinking yellow and up arrow blinking green)?

Thanks

For the email app, you said you don't use it. Did you install any emails on it? Do you use the Gmail app at all? If you have active emails on the phone, then you need to disable syncing on all of them since you don't use them

I have ALL email related apps on my phone current disabled, as I'm not suing anything (including Gmail). So, wouldn't this also suggest that the other apps (via either updates or looking for location data) would be accessing Wi-Fi like that?

Personally, I would not use "auto update" apps. Some updates end up being bad updates. I usually manually update apps and set it to notify me when updates are available and read some of the reviews before deciding on updating.

Thanks for the info.

Any thoughts on the GPS Location Syncing icon that keeps popping up?
