Notification alerts question

I'm currently using RingDroid to create custom ring tones and notification alerts on my phone. When my phone is sleeping and I get a text message, I have to turn the phone on and unlock it to stop the notification sound. Is there a setting where the notification sound will stop as soon as I hit the power button to turn on the phone from its sleeping state?

P.S. Sry if this question is already answered. I looked through the forum and couldn't find an answer.

All the HTC phones I have owned are like this. When any notification goes off it has to complete the ringer, thats why I have seen it suggested you keep you text ringers shorter. One of the reasons I was sad to see my blackberry go, any button you hit terminated the notification, but not that way on HTC.
