I have just upgraded to ICS and I noticed all the phones ring tones and notification tones are missing! I backed up my phone before upgrading but it wont let me restore the back up! it keeps saying communication error so restore was stopped! anyone have any idea how to get the notification tones back as i had several different tones for different apps!

Many thanx in advance...

Tried the file but when i run recovery i get a message saying
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted

Any Ideas as to what i am doing wrong?

You are on the default android recovery provided by sammy.

We normally use CWM recovery to flash the update files because to flash files from android recovery we need to have signed zip files.

@Hawker
I am a noobie regarding creating flashable zip files, perhaps you can help this chap out with a signed file.

Ok thank you anyway! I dont really want to root my phone so looks like i will have to keep digging around for fix to my problem! Thanx again :-)

Let's see if we can find a signed zip file or a different solution.

You can set any song a caller tone or as the default tone or as an alarm from the music player app. but about other notifications we need to look for some other solution.

I have set a song from the music library for the ring tone now but still no notification tone! Many thanx for you help tho :-)

I managed to get notification tones back for keis restore! When i went into restor i could select what was to be restored so i did one option at a time and several restores later i had my ring and notification tones back from ginger bread! Now got to find i signed file to update to ICS tones!

Thanx again for your help tho guys.
