Help Notification Bar/Top Slider stuck !

Aravindan

Member
The notification bar/Top slider is stuck at top and I'm unable to bring it down and view all the notifications. However, I can see the notifications via Menu->Notifications.

Restarting the phone solves this problem but the issue recurs after few days. Unable to pin the responsibility on any particular app. Is this a known issue or am I the only one complaining? I don't want to keep restarting the phone often to solve this issue.

Data:
Firmware: 2.2
Baseband version: I9000DDJP2
Build: FROYO.DDJP6

I used to have the same problem with my phone as well, on DDJP6. I've upgraded to JPX 2.2.1 and it seems to have been resolved.

I think it's a bug with 2.2.

I'm very surprised that this is not noticed by many. I don't want to root/install custom ROM my phone.

I guess I just have to wait for the next update.. Considering Samsung's record, that might take 'some' time...... :-)

Oh it's not a Custom ROM, and you don't need root access :) It's an Official update from Samsung Europe. You can use Registry a Patcher and make your KIES software think that it's dealing with a European Registry, so it will update your phone.

There are lots of articles and procedures on how to do it, but it's okay if you can wait. Hopefully it shouldn't take a lot more time to release the official Asian version since the European one is out!

ma friend had a similar problem , turned out that one of his apps (an IM app) uses the notification bar to inform you that it's connected (stays in the notification bar as long as you are connected) and for some reason the notification thingie crashed so he couldn't bring it down
check when does that happen, maybe it's one of your apps
