Help Notification bar

First time motorola user. With HTC, when you pull down the notification bar, it stays until you dismiss it. With the maxx, it pops right back up. It takes 2 hands to hold it down and clear it. Am I missing something?

No idea why it's doing that on yours. Mine stays down until I dismiss it. Perhaps you are unintentionally hitting one of the menu keys on the bottom? Doing so would dismiss it.

I find that when I pull it down, I must get to an exact spot at the bottom for it to lock. Otherwise, it slides up like a window blind. With my rezound, it would easily stay down. Defective unit, or is yours like that?
Thanks!

Once you reach the half way mark down the screen it will open and stay open. Less than half way it it slides back up.

mine is definitely not doing that. I need to feather it slowly down to the bottom and hold it to stay. Sounds like I have a bad unit.

It helped me to go with ADW and use the home button mapping setting to expose the notification area fully. Second click sends it back up.

I can pull mine about a 1/4 way down and then like a curtain it just sinks all the way down and stays there until I pull it back up a tad, then it rolls back up.

Don't have this problem with the status bar but the slide to answer call button is driving me nuts. If I don't slide it in the correct amount of time, to the correct place, I lose the call. A real PITA IMHO.

Yes, that's been happening to me too. I said to myself this can't be right. I think I have solved the problem. You can't really pull it down slowly--you have to flick it down and it stays down. I've done this five times in a row now and it's worked every time. If I try to pull it down slowly to the bottom, it bounces right back up. So, try flicking it down. Hope it helps.

If you pull it down with your right thumb, make sure you aren't accident ly hitting the back button. That will cause it to right back up. When i pulled it down slowly I noticed my thumb hitting the back button 9 times out of 10 unless I was paying attention to it. Its easier to just make a quick swiping action and flick it down. Hope this helps

I wasn't hitting any other key except for trying to pull down the notification bar. I've had no issue all day--just using my index finger and flicking it down. Like the original poster, I too, just upgraded from my HTC Thunderbolt to the Razr Maxx. You could move the HTC notification bar up and down and it would stay put. It's definitely different from the Razr Maxx. (I just love the battery life of the Maxx! So glad I upgraded).
