Notification bubble

Hi guys. Just got the S3 (switched over from Blackberry).

Quick question: When I receive a msg via Gmail, SMS, Kaotalk, or Whatsapp the notification bubble (where it tells me how many msgs i have unread) is not available. Any idea on how to rectify this?

I have the notification bar enabled on the drag down menu.

What I'm looking for is when I get a Whatsapp message, it'll indicate (on the iphone it's red) with a number of how many I have not attended to yet. The only solution I've found on the net is to enable the notification bar or use LED LightFlow. Anyone able to help?

hmm apps should do that and on the icon for the app show a red circle with the number on unread messages, is that what you mean?

YES! That's totally what I mean. None of my apps are doing that... is this a setting issue? Digging every where, and I can't seem to get it...
