Notification glitch

Hi all,

Got this really annoying problem when I open Facebook messenger.

So for example when someone messages me it gives me notification sound then when I open the chat head it does it again but twice like once then immediately after even though they have only sent me one message. I tried it on vibrate only same thing happens but obviously not sound just vibrate. It also happens when I go into messenger manually and open a chat it notifys me like I've got a message. I've reported it to Facebook but they haven't said anything.

Can someone please help I've got my phone on constant silent because it's driving me insane!

Using Samsung galaxy s8+ no update before this started. Tried uninstall reinstall nothing. Doesn't happen on messenger lite though.

In my circle we called it f**#book because it screws everything up on your device when the apps are installed.

Its best to uninstall all Facebook apps off your device and if any is pre-installed disable it and login from your browser and set up your notifications from that location but do not put any Facebook apps on your device none whatsoever.
