Help Notification issue...

I'm having trouble with Gmail staying synced while my Note is in sleep mode. It's like it's no longer pushing notifications while the screen is off but when I'm doing stuff on it I get them no problem. Notification is turned on for Gmail, sound is on, and sync is on. Anyone have a fix or having similar problems?

Wifi only Note 8.0 running unrooted 4.2.2

Just a negative "note" - Note 3, wifi only (data turned off), phone sleeps most of the day, and I keep getting Gmail notifications (some of which I wish I could opt out of). So one user here not having that problem.

Tested it on my S3 earlier and it works fine as well. It's really strange since it's a recent thing with the Note.
