Is it just a white LED?

Used to have different colours for different things on my S4, which was useful.

Yes, same as the N4, but brighter. Yahoo mail actually forces the phone to use a purple notification pulse.

This stripped down version of Android does have some advantages but it's not half bloody limited!

I've had an orange light and a green light as well. I can't remember what notifications they were for though

Many apps now have LED color as an option in the notification settings. I also love LightFlow and usually combine the 2 methods...

Another option to Light Flow (that I find easier to setup and doesn't require root...although it's a Nexus device...why wouldn't you root it) is Light Manager.

I am not sure if this is happening to anyone else but I think this might be the best reason I'm going to install Light Flow or another colored light notification manager.

Every once in a while, out of the corner of my eye, the white earpiece speaker grill makes my brain think I have a notification.

I miss the colored trackball of the N1...
Having said that, free Lightflow is wonky on my Gnex....
It always indicates a yellow-orange....cant figure out why

I was having a similar issue, although my light was kinda purple. Just kept blinking every time I turned the phone off. I might try re-installing today to see if it comes up again.

Take the time to set up the notification lights one by one, paying attention to what stops the notification light from blinking - screen on / notification shade down / notification cleared etc.
