Help notification problem

i have an atrix. i think this problem is system wide and i'm not sure if there is a sol'n or an app but here it is:

i'm on a call and wish to have xyz notifications turned off while on the call... i.e. texts/emails/alarms/etc... at my discretion..

is there an app for this?

don't remember all of this beeping going on with my bb / iphones....

You might check the settings in each app and see if they have something for notifications when on a call.
