notification ringtone

I've searched the threads, haven't found an answer yet. How do i apply a downloaded ringtone to set as my notification tone? Please and thank you

This is actually something that is really stupid about the droid, you need a ringtones folder for custom ringtones and a notifications folder for custom notifications. (i have the exact same things in both folders because I'm sick of trying to figure out what one looks in what folder)

And never the two shall cross, because its stupid like that.

Silly question... how would i go about doing that if you dont mind answering?

plug your phone into the computer then on the phone "Mount" it.

open the SD Card on the computer and just make two new folders with those names.
Then drag and drop the files into each folder.

Then unmount the phone, unhook the phone, set the notifications as you desire.

Astro can create folders on the SD and copy files.. give that a try

I use the App Mabilo once you download a song it asks you if you want to Set as: Default Ringer or Default Notification or you can Assign to: a certain contact only. They have a pretty decent selection of newer music and some older... and its free!
