Help Notification ringtones

I had no problems changing my notification ringtone but I went to change it to a different song and it still played the first song I set it to. So I deleted that song off my library and now when I get a text all it does is vibrates. I can't even set it to a tone that came on the phone. What's the deal?

I have this exact problem. It started this afternoon...
Has anyone found a problem or solution?
 
Have you tried rebooting the phone?

Another thing I will try sometimes (like with the email app) if the stock app is not working for some reason, I will get a third party app from the market and see if it will make it work.
 
I've tried a soft reboot and a hard reboot, I've tried 2 different apps and nothing is working. I'm going to U.S. Cellular today to get a factory reset and hopefully that works.
 
You can do a factory reset yourself, you don't have to take it back to the store.

Settings-->Privacy-->Factory reset
 
In general, the stock android apps suck at doing more than one thing. If you want to truly customize things (like multiple notifications, etc) 3rd party apps are usually much better.

(Handcent solved the same problem for me)
