Help Notification ringtones?

I set a song clip to play whenever I receive a text or notification. However, after I check the notification/text it still continues to play until the clip ends. I don't like this at all.. Is it possible to have it silence upon acknowledgement of the notification? I don't need to hear 10 seconds of music when it only takes me 2 seconds to check it out..

It's so annoying. It's almost like your phone continuing to ring even after you answer it lol; or your alarm clock going off after you hit snooze. There's just no reason to have it still playing after I've checked it.
