Help Notification Sound Problem

Can't figure this one out...

I will put the phone in silent mode by pulling down the notification bar and clicking the icon to mute the phone. Then, when I want to go back to normal audio, I will do the same thing and hit the icon for regular volume. The ringtone and media volumes restore to the regular setting, but notifications stays at zero unless I manually change it back. It used to restore all notification sounds, but no more. Why?

Mine does as you want or as you would expect (Verizon 23B 5.0.1).

Do you have any sort of notification app installed or third party mms app as default?

Verizon messenger, but that doesn't seem to affect anything. I reset Lightfow and notifications seem to be working again...for the time being.

Back again, with the notification volume stuck at zero when switching out of silent mode.
