Help Notification Sound Setting?

Hello. On a Revvl phone by T-mobile, I have tried to change the sound for inbound text messages, as well as the sound for messages in Gmail. For both, I have gone to the settings of the app, changed to a different sound, ("Calm" vs. "On the Hunt"). After pressing save changes, and restarting the phone, the same, default, original sound is still being heard when a text message or email is received. I went back to the apps' settings, but in both, the correct sound setting appears, ("Calm"). I do not know what else to do at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?

Dannydet, my problem is that I did so. I restarted the device, and still, the same, original sound is heard, despite the fact that in the settings my new, desired sound is listed.

I'm talking not each app settings, but your phones settings.
If that still doesn't work then those sounds may be baked in to the system.....
