Notification sound while on a call.

I was wondering this too. I have only noticed this capability since the 2.2 update. I thought our phones couldnt do voice and data at the same time (and i didnt have 4g on)
 
Can't do voice and data. But has always been able to recieve texts while on a call. It just didn't make the sound to notify us prior to the 2.2 update.

I dont know about this. I would never get texts while on phone calls prior to 2.2 They would always come in right after i hung up. I could be wrong though.
 
i really wanna know the answer as well....i am a big texter and i ALWAYS get texts while on the phone and it's killing my ears...

i know someone out there knows what we are talking about and i wish someone would answer before i lose my hearing because of the volume when i got my head phones plugged in while talking
 
bump...this is the sole reason i joined this forum...i can't find an answer anywhere and would like someone to take a stab at it!
 
ya, i went and downloaded handcent the other night...turned off in-call notifications in the settings menu, and then disabled notifications in the stock messenger app altogether...i love handcent...why did i wait to download this! this should be one of the first apps anyone downloads!

yup yup i changed and have been using it as well. Works perfect :D
