Notification sounds

Hi I'm new to this and also a pensioner so if anyone can help me out I would be very grateful. I have been trying to download a notification sound for my Samsung Galaxy S Plus, but can't for the life of me or my friends do it, I managed to download some phone ring tones but nothing for the notifications so someone Please help and old lady out !!!! many thanks Rose... PS please be very specific as I'm new to all this ....

Hi Rose, and welcome to AF

I don't know the Galaxy S Plus, but on my HTC what I do is that I have a folder called "Notifications" on my microSD card (which I created using a file explorer application). I then copy sound files I might want to use as notifications into that, and then when I come to select a notification sounds from the menu the phone includes the files in that folder amongst the options.
