Help Notification/text tones do not work even when changing to android tones???

Okay so I got an update the other day last week for my galaxy prevail. Upon updating it took away all text and ringtones. Well that was fine I can always set them again.... Well no you can't for some reason none are working my music will work and zedge works fine stand alone but as soon as i set anything bam just vibration. pretty pissed been a week and I figured it may just correct itself but didn't. I tried shutting down ect. resetting tones to different ones to see if it was just that tone being corrupted ect. So I even tried the default ones and to no avail they don't even work someone help please>??? I did recently try to root my phone with no luck tried 6 or 7 different methods none working this phone is not rootable. HELP PLEASE? And thank you in advance. about to smash this supposed smart phone and go back to a clutch.

well relax!!!! don't know the issue with the problem, sorry about that. but the rooting thing is really easy. you are prolly frustrated and just have like one lttle thing wrong. if still want to root just give the order of what you have tried and me or someone will help. but need to know what you have tried and how to be able to help.

Me and mrs are/was using Zedge tones on our Galaxy s3 phones and after the update they are gone. We have tried to uninstall and install Zedge a few times with no luck.

I am so angry I am about to throw the phone out of the window!

Edit: I got it! I uninstalled Zedge again, deleted the Zedge folder on the SD card and Installed again. Now its working like a charm.
