notification tone does not ring

I have samsung galaxy mini s5570. Its notification and messege tone does not roling when there is a.messege or notification. How ever ring tone is working. Can any 1 tell me the slution

Go to settings, sound, and notifications. Select the ringtome and make sure the volume is up.
