Notification Volume controls Vibration Intensity

Just like the title says. No it's not a typo.
My vibration intensity for TEXT MESSAGES only (as far as I know) is controlled by the level set for notification volume. The higher the volume, the higher intensity of the vibration. I want that notification volume all the way down, and at all the way down the vibration is completely off. (I keep my phone on 100% vibrate and 0% sounds/ringtones) However, silent mode does not turn off the notification noises. (Facebook)

anyone else experienced this freaking weird problem before?

Your issue seems to be specific to your phone. I would suggest you post your question in the device specific forum for your phone. The vibration intensity on my phone is independent of the ring tone volume.
 
Yea I thought about that but since this is such an odd issue I thought I'd put it in the lounge to try get more attention, even from folks who do not have a Fascinate and may still have an idea on what to do.
 
Did anyone ever find a solution to this? I helped a friend put CM7.1 on his phone to speed it up and increase battery life, etc. he complained to me though that it seemed like his vibrate intensity had decreased since flashing the rom and i was wondering if anyone knew how to increase the strength of vibration. Since he pointed it out to me, i've noticed the same thing, so i know it's not just his phone.
 
Well, you're running a custom ROM. At the time that I posted this, I was running stock everything on my phone. (and still am lol)

It's been so long but I think I finally resorted to factory reset which solved the problem, iirc.
