Help Notification volume shuts off on it's own

Hello, I have a stylo 4 running on the T-mobile network. For sometime now I noticed that was not getting notification sounds. After some investigation I discovered my volume had been turned off on notifications. I turned the volume on and all the way and begin receiving sounds.

Later, I noticed again I was not getting sounds for notifications. I checked the volume and noticed again the volume was turned off.

It seems to be resetting by itself. Has this happened with anyone else?

was this after an update? have you tried rebooting your phone? do you have a lockscreen? maybe put the phone in safe mode and see if it still does it. safe mode prevents 3rd party apps from running. this will determine of an app is causing it or not.

I don't think it was after an update. I have rebooted a number of times. I will try the safemode idea to see if I can get more information. Thank you.
