Help Notifications in Lock Screen... Like iPhone???

struggs

Lurker
Hi Guys
1st post so don't flame me too hard!!!

Really interested in getting the S3 but coming from the iPhone 4 I have got really used to using the notification centre and being able to preview my texts, emails etc on the lock screen and being able to ignore the spam ones and cherry pick what I do and do not open.
A perfect example is when I go into a meeting I can put the phone (iphone 4) away on silent and when I come back to it all the different messages are displayed in order, text, email, facebook etc on the locked screen.
I can then swipe the text, still in the lock screen and I am prompted for the passcode, it then takes me straight to the message.

Can this be done on the S3??????

Also, whilst I am sure this has been answered a million times in a million threads, in short what makes the S3 better than the iPhone 4 or 5 and iOS6
A list is cool ;D

Many, many thanks.

Current iPhone 4 user and have been iOS user for 3 years.

You can install third party apps to bring notifications to lock screen.
GS3 is million times better than iphone,
its touchwiz makes you feel like in heaven.
you can use it as a real smart phone.

You can view your notifications in the lock screen by pulling down the notification bar. But i believe this only works if you don't have any security set on the lock screen since you wouldn't want someone without the pin/pw to see your texts.

Also as for Android vs iOS,

Here is an interesting video series on it:
Android Vs iOS The Truth about Apple and Google's OS Part 1 of 5 - YouTube

Some of the more significant things I can think of..
True Multitasking
Open File System so you're not tethered to iTunes whenever you need to do things such as send your friend a song or video.
