Help Notifications on edge

Aren't we suppose to get notifications (email, text, phone) on the side of the screen, like the examples listed under "Information streams"? I have the missed call and text feeds selected under "Manage feeds" and I also have missed calls, messaged, emails turned on under "Select notifications", but I do not get anything on the side.

i believe this only works for certain contacts, which have to be set up on the EDGE notifications. Also, only works when the phone is face down.
