Some minor and some more serious issues experienced on my M9...
  1. Facebook - several crashes, and loss of new reaction symbols!
  2. Calling / dialing fail, it takes so long to initiate, and appears many seconds later and either calls or ends call itself!!!
  3. Several other app crashes
  4. Generally very laggy at times.
  5. One serious over heating issue, when only browsing the net for a few minutes, and suffered serious battery drain - something never experienced on this phone to date.

Who/how do contact HTC/Google?

Sadly this forum seems to be not so well used anymore, anyone suggest better?

OTA updates are always a slightly dirty process, so in event of trouble I'd suggest wiping cache and dalvik/art. Unfortunately while you can do the first on an unrooted device the second can only be done by a factory reset. But if you are having widespread problems that is worth a try. In the custom ROM (where I live) world most developers recommend a clean start with a major OS update, it's just that you'd get into a lot of trouble if you forced that onto regular users with an OTA update.

I don't know who to contact at HTC, would have to search around until I found something that looked plausible. I'm not convinced that Google take the slightest notice of what people say. Remember that if you have a carrier model phone then your carrier was ultimately responsible for the update.

But I'd try a wipe and reinstall first. It's also possible that crashes of some apps may be because the app isn't well updated for nougat - there are a lot of variables here.

I always do a Wipe Cache Partition before and after every minor system update.

I always to a Factory Data Reset after every major system update.

I have not gone to N on any device yet.

"lagy" is usually the indicator that a Wipe Cache Partition is needed.

How can I tell if my phone is a Vodafone handset?

Hi, did you find out if it is a Vodaphone handset, and if it is did you wait for the update from Vodaphone?

I've just had the Nougat update on my M9 with EE. During searching for info about the EE update I came across the following relating to Vodaphone problems with Nougat updates :-

"Also Vodafone won't comment on firmware releases as per http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly-products-services/Firmware/m-p/2421980#M4420

People can elect to flash it to their phones but I have been reading of ramifications such as issues with incoming calls and certain apps not working.

Head over to Xda developers site and forum for more detailed information.

My suggestion is to sit tight and wait for it to arrive to your phones settings.

My phone isn't vodafone.
It was severely hampered after N install as per above.
I have done a factory reset, and it has improved, but Facebook still crashes on occasions, and have had some other minor issues, all of which I never experienced pre update.
