Nougat update

Hi, I somehow downloaded the 740mb nougat update. I do not want to install. Can i just forget about it ? If i factory reset the phone will this delete the download.. Thanks in advance

If you don't upgrade then after factory resetting the phone will still have Marshmallow.

But if you do install Nougat then resetting the phone will give you Nougat.

Why don't you want to upgrade?

Thanks for the reply Kate. I can see no real reason to, but i suppose the main reason is , I googled nougat update for my phone , and read a lot of people complaining about drastic battery drain, overheating and other problems. I realize out of the very many who upgrade, the only ones who post online are going to be the minority who experience problems. However I'm a big believer in " if it ain't broke, don't fix it "
Maybe at a later date I may have a go, but for now i will recover the phone to factory settings. Cheers

Two points for you ...

Many people who upgrade do not do a Wipe Cache Partition afterwards. the result is fragmentation and slowing down and working extra hard.

I always do a Wipe Cache Partition after a minor upgrade and a Factory Data Reset after a major upgrade. I am experimenting with nod doing the Factory Data Reset after the Nougat upgrade.

If you are not root-ed the upgrade will always be there and will ask you to allow the upgrade. It is highly probable that you will accidently grant permission at sometime. It always seems to happen at the most inconvenient time when there is stress an other things to deal with. I suggest you plan for a convenient time and do it.

Your so right, I wiped the phone and thought that was it. However , a few days ago somehow the update downloaded again and was installed , however i am very happy with the outcome. Everything seems great, it may be my imagination , but my battery seems to be lasting longer r. Thanks everyone
