Nova launcher as default

I have a rooted Note 3, originally from T-Mobile USA, now MetroPCS.

I have been using Nova launcher for a long time and all has been well. Suddenly it no longer comes up automatically after the screen times out; instead when I turn the display back on I get TouchWiz or whatever the default screen is called. There is a keypad on it and I have to enter my PIN number to get Nova back. I spent a couple hours poking all over the phone for a setting to change this back to the way it used to be, but I did not find anything. I have no idea what caused this change.

I never want to see that hideous default screen. How can I make it always come up directly with Nova launcher?

Have you tried reinstalling Nova? Backup your Nova settings then redownload it. Hit home and it should prompt you if you want to set it as your default launcher. Can't recall how Samsung's settings work since I only owned an s2 a long time ago.

And since your rooted uninstall that 2nd launcher so that it never comes back
