Help Nova Launcher does NOT let me scroll BG

I have Nova Launcher installed on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS 4.0.4

I have enabled the wallpaper scrolling through Nova's options, and selected a wallpaper that is wide enough to scroll. I used Wizardrii to select the wallpaper.

It does not scroll.

What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?
 
I use Nova Launcher and I have used other launchers in the past. There is nothing wrong with the launchers. It is one of the features that Samsung had to turn off do to some kind of bogus patent infringement from Apple. If I remember correctly, this went into affect about 6 months a go.

There may be a rooted solution for you.

I'm running the stock ICS launcher (not the TW), and my LWP Koi Fish pond has a scrolling background. It works superbly. Soooo, the E4GT can in fact still have scrolling WP, it just has to be built into the WP, or possibly the Launcher, but I can't be for sure on that one since my LauncherPro is apparently not compatible with ICS, thus forcing me to use the stock launcher instead.
 
I know that Samsung removed the scrolling background due to some shenanigans where Apple something something whatever, but I was under the impression that using a third party launcher could re-enable the background scrolling.

When I first got my Galaxy s2, it had scrolling backgrounds as part of the stock launcher. It wasnt until much later that I got a firmware update that removed it. So I downloaded Nova in the hopes that it might turn it back on.

That was a good 30% or more of the reason that I downloaded it.

I checked "Infinite Scroll" in Nova wallpaper settings, but the background wallpaper doesn't scroll. Maybe it's the wallpaper itself. You might want to check out a theme that would allow infinite scrolling from Nova. A quick solution might be contacting the developer.

I was using GO Launcher EX and it was scrolling just fine -- if you can stand the bloat that it adds to your phone, you can go with that. Any other launcher I tried wouldn't scroll.
 
okay i switched to go launcher and scrolling background is back on.

sweet.

i guess the lesson here is nova just doesnt completely work with e4gt as advertised

Most launchers don't scroll on the E4GT. It has less to do with compatibility and more to do with samsung disabling most ways of scrolling on their devices in accord with their patent beef with Apple. Go launcher has another way of doing it I suppose.
