Now that AT&T has gobbled up T-Mobile, what are your future mobile carrier plans?

I plan to upgrade to the new G2x (assuming it does actually have the AT&T bands on it) before the takeover, so I'll get to keep my old rates AND get a great big screen with dual core processor :)

My biggest worry was that if I had to get a new phone to work with the ATT&T 3G and 4G, I'd be forced into a new contract to get the phone at a reasonable (discounted) price. I've read all the stuff at the ATT&T and T-Mo sites, and I didn't see anything that said you'd get the old rates if you needed to buy a discounted new phone (that would require a new contract). AT&T may still decide to do something like that to keep existing T-Mo customers happy and onboard, but being able to upgrade to a compatible phone before the acquisition just eliminates that worry for me. (Plus it gives me a "reason" to upgrade to the latest greatest--I can rationalize with the best of 'em)

im hearing all new plans for att and alot will match tmobile, lowering the in price plan for current AT&t people as well

The merge would be a disaster for Tmobile customers and for the consumer. Cell phone rates would go up for everyone because there would be less fair competition. Atet is known for having the highest rates in the cell phone industry. They like to rip customers off and in turn if this deal went thrue they would destroy tmobile and the customers who havnt already left because of this possible merger would also leave.
